Wordpress 2.1 and Structured Blogging
The new release of WordPress, version 2.1, definitely feels faster and has several new features, including auto-save and an ‘Uploads Manager’
As expected, the nice new code causes some existing plugins to break. Unfortunately that includes the truly excellent plugin for the Structured Blogging Project, which lets you publish reviews, events and ads in machine-readable microformats. I just tested it and post writing is broken. There doesn’t appear to have been much activity in the SB project for a while now, so I’m not holding my breath for a plugin update. Looks like I’ll need to stay with the WordPress 2.0 branch for my machine-readable review site. The good news is that WordPress have committed to supporting the 2.0 branch with security and bug fixes until 2010.

No guarantees on this one, but commenting out line 25 of wp-admin.php/sb-post.php seems to make it work on WP 2.1 .
I’ve not really tested this apart from verifying that I can post and read structured posts.

Hey thanks. So far that seems to work fine. I’ve tried a test post, test comments and that sort of thing and it seems to work alright. I’ll move my review site over to WordPress 2.1 soon and then it will have a more thorough testing.
Kind of makes you wonder what that line of code in line 25 was doing in the first place though… bit like when you put a car back together and find a few small nuts and bolts left over…

[...] that the plugin hasn’t been updated in a while. It’s not compatible with WordPress 2.1 unless you delete line 25 from the sb-post file inside wp-admin. There’s nothing on the site indicating an issue with [...]
