		<description>I completely agree with number 3 in the case that the design doesn&#039;t accomodate a useful .

1) You don&#039;t have to fiddle with inconsistencies in the mark-up
2) You get to keep that precious h1 for accessibility and seo purposes
3) Doing it in this way, will not affect the visual design of the site.</description>

		<description>Google will look at the H1 tag to help indexing text content and give you an extra point for the matching words inside the H1. H1 tags are hard to make look nice on most good looking sites, so this debate on what to use always comes up. From an SEO perspective, H1 tags in conjunction with bolded words, good metadata and a reasonable frequency of the targeted phrase will help index your site.

In theory, Google also looks at H2 and H3 tags, but I have seen little to nothing that Google ranks H1 tags more important than an H2 tag, but it is likely to make sense. On super competitive pages this might matter.</description>
